Photography & The Visual Elements - Lori Dunagan

Artist Statement:
My name is Lori Dunagan. I am posting these four photos that I took to share because I believe each one shows a different aspect and element of art. The picture of the eagle is on the outside of the National Eagle Center which I believe shows great texture. The top photo shows a portion of a mural that is painted along the ceiling at our high school. This, to me, looks so real and shows dimension with the globe sitting on the ledge. The tree picture is also one that is painted on a wall at our high school. Other than being very colorful, it shows the unity of all the things that our school is about. The final picture is at the Twins new stadium and anyone who is a baseball fan - how can you not like anything about that place. It shows use of space and lines.
For me this project was two-fold. I really enjoyed looking for things to take pictures of and found that I never really concentrated on objects before like I did for this project. The part that I didn't care for was trying to get all of the programs to work together and not cooperating. I'm not a facebooker, blogger or very computer literate so some of it was a struggle but all in all it was a fun assignment and I cannot wait to see others works of art!!
